I thought it kicked along in a nice toe tappy fashion Sid. Good driving
bass and guitar, always easy enough to listen to. But it broke one of
Os's golden rules of rock.
The vocalist sounded like he was about to cry?
Yeh, right on the verge of a big girly blub blub, the blithering lady
boy. This must never happen in a rock song, ever, even if we know the
vocalist is a big pansie assed lib dem voter called Nigel. Did you ever
hear Ossie sound like all the demons and graveyards'n'shit were just
bumming him out to the point of wanting his mummy? Did Bob Plant's
squealing ever sound like it was about to turn into a sob? Did Bon Scott
ever cry, ever, even when he was a baby and some big cunt stepped on his
foot? No, he fucking didn't, because he knew if he did, ACDC would never
have happened, they'd have become Flock of Partidges or John Farnham or
something.
Even non-rocking lover men don't fall into this emotoghey trap. Marvin
Gaye was heart broken on "What's going on', the man was looking at his
people being slowly genocided by Dubya's grandads but he turned it into
some emotional righteous funk, he didn't have a big snotty cry about it.
Barry White, the guy has balls that'd bring a tear to any man's eye but
he's horny, not weepy.
Shit, Ian Curtis was a miserable cunt but he went to the rope with dry
eyes man and if a pale skinny little doom head like him can do it then
these fucking Jimmey Eat Worlds can too god damnit.
Now dry your eyes and get back into line Princess.
